| The NeighborWorks HomeOwnership Center at Avesta Housing provides a variety of services to help you meet your financial goals. They offer free budget and credit counseling for anyone who wants to learn to manage his/her money better or improve his/her credit health. They also offer classes for first time homebuyers that teach people about the entire homebuying process. These classes are $30 per person, or $50 for two people, and meet the education requirement to obtain a Rural Development loan or a Maine State Housing Loan. The Maine State Housing Loan includes a $3,500 grant that can be used on a down payment or closing costs, as long as the homebuyer(s) meet income requirements. They also offer free foreclosure intervention counseling for anyone facing the foreclosure of their home.? |
