Community Creation to Address Housing Crisis

PHDC is addressing the housing crisis in Portland with new family and senior housing in locations that are near services, recreation, schools and public transit. Through dozens of relationships with partner organizations and by engaging our current residents and the area neighbors in the planning process, PHDC creates communities that are affordable, environmentally responsible and strive to empower residents and bring people together as a community through integrated support services.

Development Arm of the Portland Housing Authority

PHDC was created in 1983 as the real estate development arm of the Portland Housing Authority. In 2015, Portland Housing Authority and PHDC began a Strategic Visioning process for the renovation and re-development of some of the major properties within PHA's portfolio of over 1,000 units of housing in Portland. In the coming years we will be engaging our residents and area neighbors in a dialogue about our development activity.
